                                        Earth Spirits

           In Latvian mythology Earth spirits are spirits who are keeping the contact with Earth, Spirit mother, snakes and frogs. In old times Latvians friendly lived together with everyone. Snakes very often have been guests for dinner; they have been eating from the same plate as other family members. Latvian Goddess Mara often turned into snake and then visited people. Snakes have been honored through centuries in Latvia. White snake is believed to be the most precious an honorable snake, as she knew where the pot of gold is buried.
   Earth is our Mother and every moment she is with us, she also sends messengers- her children - to us. “Zalktis” is a God of well-being and fertility and he is also associated with snakes.
   This card asks you to make a contact with Earth by going outside, meditating having your feet on the ground, maybe doing some gardening work... You are also being asked to ground yourself in order to improve the situation you are in as it helps to see situation more clearly. Honor Mother Earth and listen to her wisdom.
